Wild 5 Days Chitim Tim Dare Garo Hills | Striking
Overview
The West Garo Hills carry a different geological character from the high plateau of Balpakram or the limestone of the Siju cave system. Chitim Tim Dare is a gorge where boulders and vertical cliffs rise approximately 150 metres on both sides of a narrow canyon floor with a stream running through the base. The walls are close enough that the sound of the water between them is contained and amplified. The chitim tim dare garo hills package builds a West Garo Hills circuit around that canyon – the Tura Peak forest trek on Day 2, the canyon on Day 3 and the Nokrek forest trails on Day 4 before the long return to Guwahati.
Bon handles the vehicle from Guwahati Airport or Railway Station with Tura as the four-night base throughout. Tura is the main town of the West Garo Hills and the correct operational base for all three days of activity that this circuit covers. Daily breakfast on CP basis throughout.

Best Time to Visit
Meghalaya stays cool year-round. Shillong enjoys pleasant weather (15°C–25°C), while Cherrapunji and Mawsynram receive heavy monsoons (June–September), creating dramatic waterfalls. Winters (October–February) are crisp and dry (4°C–16°C), perfect for exploring living root bridges, crystal-clear Dawki river, and limestone caves. October to April is the best time for sightseeing, trekking, and clear valley views.
