Layered 5 Days Wari Chora Canyon Tour | Revelatory
Overview
The Jaintia Hills run east of the Khasi Hills through limestone terrain that has been carving itself for longer than the Khasi plateau has been settled. Wari Chora is what that carving produces – a narrow gorge where limestone walls close from both sides and local boats move through the gap at river level with the cliff face within arm’s reach. The wari chora canyon tour meghalaya takes a group into landscape that most Meghalaya itineraries never reach, through the Jaintia Hills where the cultural record is as distinct as the geology.
Bon handles the vehicle from Guwahati Airport or Railway Station with Jowai as the base for the first three nights. Day 2 goes to the gorge with Thadlaskein Lake in the afternoon. Day 3 makes the drive to Krangsuri Falls, approximately 88 kilometres from Jowai through the West Jaintia Hills. Day 4 covers the Nartiang monolith field before the route moves west to Shillong for the final night. Day 5 closes at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station. Boat charges through the gorge at Wari Chora are paid locally on Day 2.

Best Time to Visit
Meghalaya stays cool year-round. Shillong enjoys pleasant weather (15°C–25°C), while Cherrapunji and Mawsynram receive heavy monsoons (June–September), creating dramatic waterfalls. Winters (October–February) are crisp and dry (4°C–16°C), perfect for exploring living root bridges, crystal-clear Dawki river, and limestone caves. October to April is the best time for sightseeing, trekking, and clear valley views.
