Best Time to Visit
Manali stays comfortable through the ride's season, while the highway climbs to genuinely extreme altitudes, Baralacha La and Tanglang La both crossing well above five thousand metres, cold at any time of year. The route is only open from roughly mid-June through late September, since snow closes the high passes for the rest of the year. July and August offer the most reliable conditions, though sudden weather changes remain possible throughout.
