Most Ladakh trips give you the monasteries or the lakes. This one gives both in a single loop that never doubles back on itself – northeast to Nubra, east to Pangong, south through the Changthang to Tso Moriri, and northwest home to Leh. Four monasteries and two lakes in eight days, each arriving through the landscape rather than from a guidebook. The ladakh monastery and lake circuit runs 8 Days, 7 Nights from Leh, covering Hemis, Thiksey, Diskit and Korzok and the two high-altitude lakes that Ladakh holds at its quietest edges. This route forms a complete loop through Ladakh’s eastern geography and does not repeat a single road. Itinerary

The ladakh monastery and lake circuit begins at Kushok Bakula Rimpochhe Airport where the Bon vehicle meets the group. Leh sits at 3,524 metres and the body registers it in the first breath - thinner air, sharper light, a dryness that city lungs have no preparation for. The hotel is fifteen minutes from the airport. The rest of the day is deliberate stillness. Water, warmth, no exertion. The circuit ahead covers two lakes above 4,300 metres and one pass above 5,300, and the body needs these first hours to begin the adjustment that makes the rest of the trip possible.
