Kullu and Manali both sit at moderate hill altitude, comfortable through spring and autumn, genuinely cold from December through February. Rafting on the Beas depends on water levels, typically running from March through June and again briefly in early autumn, since the monsoon and winter both affect conditions on the river. March through June offers the most reliable rafting window alongside clear sightseeing weather.
