Maritime 5 Days Jolly Buoy Island Andaman Package | Dappled
Overview
Jolly Buoy Island sits inside the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park off the south coast of South Andaman Islands, accessible by boat from Wandoor village approximately 29 kilometres from Port Blair. It is one of two small islands in the park β Jolly Buoy and Red Skin β that the forest department opens to tourists on an alternating year basis. When Jolly Buoy is open, Red Skin is closed for reef recovery. The following year the arrangement reverses. This rotation exists because both islands have coral reef ecosystems that accumulate damage from visitor presence and the alternating closure gives each reef a full year to recover. The snorkelling around Jolly Buoy on a calm day within the October to May open season is among the better reef experiences available from the South Andaman mainland β away from the harbour turbidity that affects sites closer to Port Blair, the water over the reef runs clearer. This jolly buoy island andaman package is built around the marine park experience and the south Andaman ecology circuit that surrounds it.
Bon Voyagers manages the complete programme from Port Blair Airport arrival. The five days use Port Blair as the base β all four nights in the city β and radiate to the south Andaman sites each day. Day 1 covers the Cellular Jail and port city arrival. Day 2 is the Jolly Buoy Island full day β Wandoor jetty, boat to the island, reef snorkelling and glass bottom boat, return by afternoon. Day 3 is the Chiriya Tapu full day β the southernmost point of South Andaman, its mangrove forest and its birding. Day 4 is Port Blair deep β Ross Island, North Bay and the Samudrika Naval Marine Museum. Day 5 is the departure. Private AC Ertiga or Xylo class vehicle covers all road transfers. Jolly Buoy Island permit, boat tickets, all entry charges and permits are included. Daily breakfast and dinner on MAP basis throughout.

Best Time to Visit
Jolly Buoy Island and the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park operate on a seasonal basis from approximately October to May β the park closes during the southwest monsoon from June through September when rough seas make the Wandoor to island boat crossing unsafe. Within the open season, January and February offer the best reef visibility at Jolly Buoy Island. Chiriya Tapu birding is excellent year-round but is most rewarding in the early morning during the October to March period when migratory species supplement the resident population. The overall best window for this jolly buoy island andaman package is November through March, when calm sea conditions, clear water and comfortable Port Blair temperatures align.
