Gushaini and the park's lower trails sit at a moderate altitude, comfortable through spring and autumn, while the trek toward Shilt climbs considerably higher and turns genuinely cold overnight even in summer. The trekking season runs roughly April through June and September through November, since the monsoon makes trails slippery and higher stretches can hold snow into early summer some years. May and October offer the most reliable combination of clear trails and stable weather.
