5 Day Buoyant Andaman Freediving Package | Serene

Overview for Andaman Freediving Package
Scuba diving puts a tank on your back and a regulator in your mouth and lets you stay underwater for forty minutes. Freediving removes all of that. One breath. You descend on it, you spend whatever time the breath allows at the reef and you ascend on what is left. The Andaman Sea at Havelock is an environment where this matters — the visibility in the October to May season is good enough that the full descent line is visible from the surface and the reef at fifteen metres is clear from the moment you commit to the dive. The andaman freediving package is built around the AIDA or SSI affiliated freediving course at Havelock — two to three days of theory, confined water breath-hold practice and open water depth sessions that take a first-time freediver from the surface to their first confident descent and back. The reef experienced through freediving is different from the reef experienced through scuba — no regulator noise, no bubbles, no tank weight, the fish behaving around a freediver differently from how they behave around a scuba diver because the freediver is quieter and closer to what the fish understand the water to contain.
Bon Voyagers manages the complete ground programme from Port Blair Airport arrival for this Andaman Islands freediving package. Day 1 covers Port Blair and the Cellular Jail. Day 2 takes the morning ferry to Havelock and the freediving course begins in the afternoon with theory and confined water sessions. Day 3 is the open water depth progression — descents on the line, the reef at freediving depth. Day 4 is the reef freediving sessions at Elephant Beach and the Havelock reef sites. Day 5 crosses to Neil Island for a shallow reef session before the return to Port Blair and the departure. Vehicle transfers at Port Blair and Havelock, ferry tickets and MAP meals throughout are included. Freediving course fees and all session charges are paid directly to the registered freediving operator.
