Phuentsholing stays warm and humid year-round, while Thimphu, Punakha and Paro sit at different altitudes along the route, so the temperature shifts across each day's drive. Punakha stays mild even through winter, comfortable regardless of season, while Thimphu and Paro turn properly cold from December through February. March and April bring clear skies and early blooms around Punakha's farmland, while October and November offer the sharpest Himalayan views from Dochula Pass after the monsoon clears.
