Phuentsholing stays warm year-round, while Thimphu, Punakha and Paro sit at different altitudes, so a group should pack for a range of temperatures rather than one climate. Dochula Pass, the highest point on this route at just over three thousand metres, can turn genuinely cold even when the valleys below feel mild. March through May brings clear skies well suited to outdoor group activities, while October and November offer the sharpest Himalayan views once the monsoon clears, both strong windows for a larger group travelling together.
