Saltwater 8 Days Offbeat Andaman Package | Fathomless
Overview
The standard Andaman itinerary has a logic to it β Port Blair for the history, Havelock for the beach, Neil for the quieter version of Havelock β and that logic works for a very specific kind of trip. This offbeat andaman package works on a different logic entirely. It goes south first β to Chiriya Tapu at the southernmost forest point of South Andaman Islands and then by government ferry to Little Andaman, approximately 120 kilometres south of Port Blair, where Butler Bay Beach runs for approximately 11 kilometres without a single sun lounger on it and the White Surf and Whisper Wave waterfalls sit in the forest a jungle trek from the road. Then it comes back to Port Blair and goes north β through Baratangβs limestone caves and mud volcanoes, overnight at Rangat in Middle Andaman, through the Karen community settlement at Mayabunder to Diglipur at the top of the accessible chain where the Ross and Smith Islands sandbar sits barely above the waterline at low tide. Eight days. The full length. None of the standard circuit.
Bon Voyagers manages the complete ground programme from Port Blair Airport arrival. Day 1 covers Port Blair and the Cellular Jail. Day 2 goes south to Chiriya Tapu with a Cinque Island reef excursion. Days 3 and 4 are on Little Andaman. Day 5 returns by ferry to Port Blair. Day 6 opens the north circuit through Baratang to Rangat. Day 7 drives through Mayabunder and the Karen village to Diglipur with the Ross and Smith Islands sandbar in the afternoon. Day 8 is the long return drive to Port Blair and the departure. Private AC Ertiga or Xylo class vehicle covers all road transfers. Government ferry tickets for Little Andaman, all boat tickets, permits and entry charges are included. Daily breakfast and dinner on MAP basis throughout all eight days.

Best Time to Visit
This offbeat andaman package spans the full accessible length of the Andaman chain and its weather window is constrained by the most weather-sensitive element β the government ferry crossing to Little Andaman and the Cinque Island marine park boat on Day 2. Both require calm sea conditions available between October and May. The monsoon from June through September makes both the Little Andaman crossing and the Cinque Island excursion unsafe or impossible. Within the October to May window, December through February is the peak demand period when the Bay of Bengal is at its calmest for the ferry crossing, the Chiriya Tapu birding is active and the north Andaman roads are in their best post-monsoon condition. The Ross and Smith Islands sandbar visit is tide-dependent and available year-round within the safe sea season.
