Verdant 6 Days Diglipur Andaman Package | Phosphorescent
Overview
Most Andaman itineraries end at Havelock or Neil Island and call it done. Diglipur sits approximately 320 kilometres north of Port Blair at the top of the accessible Andaman chain and operates on a completely different register from the resort island circuit in the south. The highest point in the Andaman Islands is here โ Saddle Peak at approximately 732 metres, reached by a forest trek through Saddle Peak National Park that passes through rainforest dense enough that the canopy closes over the trail well before the summit. A short boat ride from Aerial Bay jetty reaches Ross and Smith Islands โ two separate islands connected by a natural sandbar that sits barely above the waterline at low tide, walkable with warm shallow water on both sides and nothing in any direction but open sea and forest. Kalipur Beach nearby is a documented leatherback and olive ridley turtle nesting site. This diglipur andaman package reaches the part of the archipelago that most travellers only find on YouTube.
Bon Voyagers manages the complete ground programme from Port Blair Airport arrival. The journey north is broken into two days โ an overnight at Rangat on Day 1 with a stop at the Moricedera mangrove creek, then the final run to Diglipur on Day 2. Days 3 and 4 are the heart of this diglipur andaman package โ Ross and Smith Islands on the morning of Day 3 timed around low tide, Alfred Caves in the afternoon and the full Saddle Peak trek on Day 4. Day 5 returns to Port Blair. Day 6 is the departure. Private AC Ertiga or Xylo class vehicle covers all road transfers throughout. Daily breakfast and dinner on MAP basis at all hotels. All forest department permits, boat tickets and entry charges included.

Best Time to Visit
Diglipur and North Andaman experience the clearest weather between October and May, with the post-monsoon months of October through December offering cool temperatures ideal for the Saddle Peak trek. The peak demand window for this package falls in December through February when the forest temperature at elevation is pleasant and Kalipur Beach enters its leatherback turtle nesting season. The northeast monsoon brings relatively moderate rainfall to North Andaman compared to the south, though the Saddle Peak trail becomes significantly slippery between June and September and the trek is not recommended during this period. Convoy timings through the Jarawa reserve are consistent year-round but road conditions between Rangat and Diglipur can deteriorate during heavy monsoon spells.
