Watershed 5 Days Rangat Andaman Package | Briny
Overview
Rangat is the main town of Middle Andaman Islands and most people drive through it without stopping β the road north to Diglipur passes through it and the ferry to Long Island leaves from its jetty, but Rangat itself rarely appears in an itinerary as a destination in its own right. That is partly because what Middle Andaman offers does not photograph the way Radhanagar Beach or the Ross-Smith sandbar photographs β the Moricedera mangrove creek winding through dense canopy in the early morning, the Cuthbert Bay beach at the edge of the forest where olive ridley turtles come ashore between January and March, the working rhythm of the Rangat Bay harbour at dawn. These are experiences that require time and proximity rather than a wide-angle lens. This rangat andaman package is built for the traveller who understands that difference and wants three days in Middle Andaman with the intent to actually be in the place rather than pass through it.
Bon Voyagers manages the complete ground programme from Port Blair Airport arrival. Day 1 opens with the full Baratang programme β the limestone caves and the mud volcanoes β before the final drive to Rangat for the evening. Days 2 and 3 are the Rangat days β the Moricedera mangrove boat on Day 2 morning, Cuthbert Bay in the afternoon, the pre-dawn Cuthbert Bay walk on Day 3 morning for the turtle nesting window and the Rangat Bay harbour in the daylight hours that follow. Day 4 is the return drive to Port Blair with the Cellular Jail in the evening. Day 5 is the departure. Private AC Ertiga or Xylo class vehicle covers all road transfers throughout. Small boat for the Moricedera creek and the Baratang cave crossing are included. Daily breakfast and dinner on MAP basis at all hotels throughout.

Best Time to Visit
Middle Andaman and the Rangat area are best visited between October and May when the Baratang limestone cave motorboat crossing is accessible without monsoon-related disruption and the convoy road conditions between Port Blair and Rangat are at their most reliable. The turtle nesting season at Cuthbert Bay runs approximately from January to March, making this the peak demand window for the rangat andaman package when pre-dawn beach walks offer the best chance of witnessing nesting activity. The Moricedera mangrove creek boat is available year-round but the birdlife in the mangrove canopy is most active in the cooler post-monsoon months. The southwest monsoon from June through September brings significant rainfall to Middle Andaman and can affect both the Baratang motorboat crossing and the road to Rangat.
