Overview
Pasighat sits where the Siang exits the mountains, the same river that joins the Dibang and Lohit downstream to become the Brahmaputra. The town was established in 1911 and is the oldest in Arunachal Pradesh. This pasighat tour package runs 5 Days, 4 Nights from Dibrugarh, based on the Siang riverbank and covering the Daying Ering Wildlife Sanctuary, the upper Siang valley and the Adi tribal villages of East Siang.
Elevation here sits around 150 metres, so this is not an altitude trip. Best Time to Visit
Pasighat is pleasant from October through April, when the river is settled after the monsoon and migratory birds are active in Daying Ering Wildlife Sanctuary. October and November bring the best wildlife window. February coincides with the Ali-Ai-Ligang festival of the Adi community. The monsoon between June and September brings flooding to riverside areas and can close sanctuary access.
