True 4 Days Mawlyngot Tea Village Meghalaya | Timeless
Overview
The Camellia shrubs growing wild in the hills above Mawlyngot were there long before anyone harvested them. A village school teacher found them, understood what they were and set in motion a community decision that turned a village known for little into the source of Urlong Tea – an organic wild tea that carries the specific character of the East Khasi Hills soil it grows in without any plantation intervention. The mawlyngot tea village meghalaya tour is built around two nights in the village that built itself around that discovery.
Bon handles the vehicle from Guwahati Airport or Railway Station with Shillong as Night 1 and Mawlyngot as Nights 2 and 3 in community homestay accommodation. Day 2 arrives at the tea garden in the afternoon. Day 3 is a full village day – the production chain, the forest trails and the kind of slow pace that a community deliberately running low-impact tourism has preserved as the point rather than the compromise. Day 4 returns via Shillong to Guwahati Airport or Railway Station. Daily breakfast on CP basis throughout.

Best Time to Visit
Meghalaya stays cool year-round. Shillong enjoys pleasant weather (15°C–25°C), while Cherrapunji and Mawsynram receive heavy monsoons (June–September), creating dramatic waterfalls. Winters (October–February) are crisp and dry (4°C–16°C), perfect for exploring living root bridges, crystal-clear Dawki river, and limestone caves. October to April is the best time for sightseeing, trekking, and clear valley views.
