Itanagar sits at around 300 metres elevation and is accessible year round. October through April is the most comfortable window, with November through February offering the clearest walking weather. The monsoon from June through September brings heavy rain and makes the forested paths around Ita Fort difficult. March and April are warm and pleasant before the pre-monsoon heat sets in.
