Gulmarg sits at approximately 2,650 metres in the Pir Panjal range of North Kashmir and the skiing terrain above it extends from the meadow base to the Apharwat ridge at approximately 3,980 metres — a vertical drop of over 1,300 metres served by the Gondola cable car in two phases. The upper slopes above Kongdori receive powder snow from the western disturbances that cross Kashmir between November and March and the terrain mix at Gulmarg covers beginner runs on the lower meadow, intermediate slopes on the Kongdori bowl and advanced off-piste on the Apharwat upper field. Day 3 gives the full second skiing day — Gondola Phase 1 to Kongdori and Phase 2 to Apharwat for those ready for the upper terrain. Day 4 drives back to Srinagar for the airport drop.
