Description
Day 1 – Welcome: Raxaul to Chitwan’s Green Heart
Your nepal tour package opens with a friendly meet and greet at Raxaul station, Nepal’s Indian border gateway. Crossing into lowland Terai evokes a different world—grasslands lined by Sal trees and rivers flowing out from the distant Himalayas. During the transfer to Chitwan, you’ll notice subtropical scenery: fields, village markets, and forests that are world-renowned for rich biodiversity.
Chitwan National Park is the oldest in Nepal and recognized since 1984 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, over 600 types of plants flourish, offering vital habitat for 50 mammal species—including the endangered one-horned rhinoceros, sloth bear, leopards, wild boar, four main deer varieties, and the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger. More than 520 bird species have been recorded—from hornbills and kingfishers to nesting storks on marshy riverbanks.
After lively local encounters and orientation with your trip leader, you’ll check in to a comfortable resort or lodge. Enjoy evening downtime wandering the peaceful grounds or relax with a cup of tea under vast star-filled skies—your first taste of Nepali wilderness.
Day 2 – Wildlife Encounters & Scenic Journey to Kathmandu
If you’re keen on wildlife, rise early for optional jungle activities—renowned in every nepal tour package. Take a thrilling elephant-back safari, canoe down crocodile-filled rivers, or try a nature trail walk with expert rangers (at your own cost). Chitwan safaris offer dramatic close-up views of white-muzzled rhinos wallowing in mud, playful monkeys, and herds of spotted deer grazing softly by the shadows.
Back at your resort, enjoy a local-style breakfast before you check out for the journey north, up the Prithvi Highway toward Kathmandu. The 5–6 hour drive is reminiscent of a living geography lesson: you’ll pass rice terraces, colorful roadside bazaars, tea-hill outposts, and swirling streams as the landscape climbs from sub-tropical to mid-altitude Himalayan foothills.
Arrive in Kathmandu, capital and soul of Nepal, by late afternoon. Your accommodations are central, providing quick access to bustling Thamel’s shops, café culture, and the glowing lamps from valley temples. The city is home to seven UNESCO world heritage sites and preserves deep-rooted Buddhist and Hindu traditions.
Day 3 – Kathmandu’s Heritage Wonders & Nagarkot Hilltop Sunset
After a hearty Nepali breakfast, your Kathmandu exploration begins. With a local expert guide, you’ll first visit the spiritual stronghold of Pashupatinath Temple—one of Hinduism’s holiest Shiva shrines. Witness daily rituals, sacred cremation ghats on the Bagmati River, and the fascinating blend of pilgrims and sadhus meditating beneath ashoka and peepal trees.
Move next to Bhaktapur Durbar Square—a living museum famed for medieval courtyards, red-brick Malla palaces, five-tiered Nyatapola Temple, pottery alleys, and Himalayan views. Sample iconic ‘king curd’, yak cheese, or browse for wood-carved masks.
In the afternoon, drive out of Kathmandu Valley to Nagarkot. This quiet hill station in the Himalayas is acclaimed as one of the best viewpoints for sunrise and sunset over the world’s tallest peaks, including the Langtang range, Manaslu, and even Everest on clear days. Take in awe-inspiring colors as dusk lights the distant snows. Return to your Kathmandu hotel late evening with indelible mountain memories.
Day 4 – Departure with Himalayan Memories
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, and spend final moments shopping or snapping last views from your hotel’s rooftop. Our team ensures your easy transfer back to Raxaul station—helpful every step to ensure safe border crossing and clarity on train timings. You leave Nepal richer in stories, perspective, and the spirit of the Himalayas.
