How to reach

By Flight:

If you’re flying in, your destination is Bagdogra Airport, about 126 kilometers away from Gangtok. Once you land, you have a few options. You can pre-book a taxi to take you straight to Gangtok, which usually takes around 4 hours. Alternatively, there are shared taxis available at cheaper rates. And for those who want to save time and don’t mind spending a bit more, there are helicopter services from Bagdogra to Gangtok.

By Road:

Gangtok is nicely connected by the national highway 10, also known as NH10, which links it to the rest of India. If you’re coming by road, you’ll probably pass through Siliguri in West Bengal, which is the nearest major city. From there, taxis and buses are readily available for the journey to Gangtok.

By Train:

For train travelers, the closest railway station is New Jalpaiguri in Siliguri, approximately 117 kilometers from Gangtok. Once you reach New Jalpaiguri, you can hire a taxi or book one in advance to reach Gangtok. The journey usually takes around 4 hours. New Jalpaiguri is well-connected to major cities across India, so getting there shouldn’t be a problem.
